How to Get a Library Card
Free library cards are issued to residents and individuals listed as property owners in Old Lyme.
Children may register when they are five years old or in kindergarten.
Residents from other Connecticut towns should bring their current hometown library card to register.
Temporary cards are available for a refundable deposit to those who do not meet the above qualifications.
There is a replacement fee for lost cards.
Borrowing Periods and Fines
Most materials circulate for three weeks. New fiction circulates for 14 days. Entertainment videos have a 2 day

All items have a 1 day grace period except videos, new fiction, Museum passes, interlibrary loans, and equipment.
Most overdue items are ten cents per day; children's materials are 5 cents per day; videos are $2.00 per day.
Patrons are responsible for paying for lost or damaged materials.
