National Library Week Program

Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center - Nature Series
Thursdays, April 5th & 19th at 4:00.
(Two more programs in May to be announced.)

Our first program on April 5th in this exciting series is
"Seed Secrets". Discover the well-hidden secret in every seed by dissecting beans, peanuts, acorns, and other seeds. Play a seed scattering game and investigate
mystery bags.

On April 19th, join us for "Trees Are Terrific".
Children will discover the essential contribution trees make in nature and learn to identify the common species they're likely to encounter.

These programs are suitable for children in Grades K-3.

Spring Storytimes Begin Tuesday, April 3rd

Tuesdays - 4 & 5's at 10:15 and 1l:15
Thursdays - Birth - 2's at 10:15
Fridays - 2 & 3's at 10:15

There will be a drop-in storytime for all ages on Mondays, April 9th and 23rd.

Registration for all storytimes will begin Monday, March 12th.

Easter Storytime
Friday, April 13th at 11:00am
Enjoy Easter Stories and a fun craft.
Children ages 4-6 are welcomed.


Young Adult Craft Project
Friday, April 27th at 2:30 pm
We're going to make a piñata for the following week's Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.

All programs are free and open to the public, but do require registration. Please contact the Youth Services Librarian for more information at 434-1684.

Spring Story times Continue - Tuesday, April 3 -Friday, May 25
Tuesdays - 4 & 5's at 10:15 am and 1:15pm; Thursdays - 0-2's at 10:15am; Fridays - 2 & 3's at 10:15am.
There will be a drop-in storytime for all ages on Mondays, April 9 and 23. Registration for all storytimes is in progress.


Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center - Nature Series Thursdays, May 3 and 17 at 4:00 pm. These programs are suitable for children in grades K-3.
On May 3, the program "Habitats are Homes" will be presented. Different habitats including field, forest and backyard are introduced along with their common inhabitants. Activities might include "Popcorn Food Chain", "Tree to Turf Time Machine" and more.
On May 17, we will "Peek into a Pond." Learn about pond life by observing the animals, listening to frog calls and participating in other engaging activities.

Mexican Fiesta (Cinco de Mayo) - Friday, May 4 at 2:30 pm
Children in grades 6th-8th are invited to this celebration. Learn the meaning of Cinco de Mayo while listening to Mexican music and enjoying festive refreshments. Have fun doing a hat dance. Finally, see who'll be able to break open our piñata.

4th Annual Mother's Day Tea Party (ages 3-5 and Moms) - Friday, May 11 at 1:15pm
Enjoy refreshments while listening to stories and poems. Have fun creating a beautiful Mother's Day craft with your child.

A Pajama Story time (ages 2-4) - Wednesday, May 23 at 7:00pm
Listen to Goodnight Moon and other great bedtime stories. Come in your pajamas and don't forget your favorite stuff animal.
